Carbon steel mill plates are ideal for the construction of buildings, bridges, stadiums, agricultural equipment, and automotive components. Mostly used in high-pressure, high-temperature construction, carbon mill plates are known for their strength and durability. They are also relatively easy to machine, weld, and cut, and can be shaped to fit a variety of other applications.
Service Steel Warehouse stocks ASTM A572-50 and A36 steel mill plates in diverse sizes, with thicknesses ranging from 3/16” to 4”. Our carbon steel plates can be cut to custom specifications for any project. We also offer comprehensive finishing, including galvanizing and additional processing services.

Steel Plate Stock FAQs
Structural steel plate stock, or mill plates, are construction components that are thicker and wider than bars, sheets, and coils. Not to be confused with universal mill plates, steel plate stock is available in a wider array of widths and thicknesses. Steel mill plate stock is useful in a variety of applications including infrastructure and aerospace technologies.
Continuous mill plates are typically rolled coils of steel mill plate that can be cut to custom dimensions by the end user or service plant. In contrast, discrete mill plates are thicker, usually cold-rolled, and come in a variety of lengths to meet specific requirements.
